The Woman's Club welcomed Mariana Sosa, Operations Manager manager with the Foundation for Women Warriors (FFWW), as featured speaker at the November 3 "Tribute to Veterans" luncheon meeting at the Clubhouse. The meeting focused on how organizations serve and support veterans

Standing l-r, Harvey Kreger (Vietnam vet), Mariana Sosa, foundation for Women Warriors, Norbert Knapp,(Vietnam vet) Sosa, who joined FFWW after many years working in the nonprofit corporate and legal fields. talked about FFWW's 100 year history and explained how they support and serve women veterans and their families. Local veterans attending the meeting were introduced, including Club member, Joan Moffet, a WWII Army nurse and Marshall St. John, a WWII Marine veteran and South Pasadena resident. Other veterans in attendance were Bruce Crum, marine Vietnam veteran, and Harvey Kreger and Norbert Knapp who also served in Vietnam. The Club has a long history of support for active military and veterans, including “Operation Cookie” which began in WWII for soldiers stationed around the world and continues today for hospitalized and homeless veterans. The Club also has an active outreach program at the Los Angeles VA Center in downtown Los Angeles.
