Welcome to November. This month begins our fundraising season and it’s the perfect time for you to be involved with YOUR club. I capitalized the word your to remind you that the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena is your club. It is also a volunteer organization, and this time of year is when the club needs your help the most.
I would like to invite you to join in the fun of decorating the clubhouse for the holidays. Help create the magic of Christmas by hanging garlands, decorat-ing the tree, and putting up lights. Please come on Saturday the 16th and add your captivating touch.
Our long-standing Holiday Boutique, also in November, features hand-made crafts, artwork, and much more. Please help make this event a success by donating baked goods for our bake sale and taking some time to sell raffle tickets.
In early December we will host our evening holiday event, Sip, Shop & Soirée. This is a large event with vendors, live music, wine and small bites, and an auction and raffle. Your help is needed. Please consider volunteering for a shift to monitor the auction table, sell raffle tickets, or help with cleanup.
There are even more ways for you to participate in the club this November. Along with the morning and evening general membership meetings, there will be a hot chocolate social, a blood drive for Huntington Hospital, and a trip to Cal Tech for an art installment.
You can find more information about the club’s monthly groups, pro-grams, meetings, and events on our website - womansclubsp.com. Our website is now in the hands of our new member May Cruz, who volunteered to update our website at her first meeting! Please join me in welcoming May to our club.
You may be aware that member Ann Close is moving away from South Pasadena very soon. Ann has been a very involved member, and I want to thank her for her outstanding leadership and direction of our annual Holiday Boutique for the past few years. Please read more about Ann’s involvement with the club in this issue.
In other good news, our ADA ramp has finally been installed. Have you seen it? It is a lovely entrance to our clubhouse and it’s fun to walk up and down. And there are delightful lights that lead us down the curvy path in the dark. It is a pleasure, and I really appreciate the leadership of Nichole Dunville and the entire House Committee.
Happy Thanksgiving, Liz
